Hi Don; The faucets in the LD come with threaded nipples, which extend about two inches below the fixture into the cabinet below. The fittings on the PEX hoses (pipes) screw onto these nipples. The nipples are generally plastic and can be trimmed shorter. Larry's plugs, screw into these PEX pipes, after they are unscrewed from the defective fixture. He plugged these nipple pieces with epoxy. I believe the nipples are standard 1/2", and you can buy caps for the nipple instead of using epoxy.
two of these should plug up open hoses:          https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?sku=64718&gclid=CjwKCAiA0uLgBRABEiwAecFnkyK2xsIBGLQUNpt_sgVWK7VN64d1vZbh_CC3JvsAfqEMOIoNRVFTTRoCOkwQAvD_BwE

Thanks for trying to explain the water faucet plugs. I don't get it, nor do I understand how they would be used. I am guessing the rubber grommets in the faucet have failed and new seals are not available or the faucet cannot be taken apart without C4 due to scale buildup.
Do they screw into the faucet exit? If so, I see some brass ones that might do the same.

The plugs screw into the water supply lines, after the lines are disconnected from the faucet.
If a faucet is leaking uncontrollably, requiring the water pump to be turned off, once the plugs are installed, the water pump can be left on.  LDs do not have faucet supply shut off valves, the type normally found in homes.

The plugs are a stop gap device, enabling one to continue their trip, with a mostly functioning plumbing system, until proper repairs are made. You may find similar brass plugs in a plumbing store.
I had an old faucet, replaced after a trip with a leaking faucet. The old plastic faucet's intakes were cut off and filled them with epoxy, to use as plugs in case of future leaks.
I hope to never use them but they are there, just in case.
