24' TK vs FD
Hello. Anybody out there have any experience with the above models? I was interested in the 2018 24' FD. I was just at the factory last week but they didn't have one. They had a brand new 24' TK though. Spent some time inside the "house" and noticed that the left couch is bigger that the right couch. It's deeper. Not necessarily taller or wider but deeper making the person have to slouch more when sitting on the left side and more erect on the right side. Not sure if anyone has noticed this. Anyway, would anyone know how the couches on the TK compare to the single couch on the FD size-wise? Thanks.

I can't compare the 2 models and I haven't noticed a different couch back angle in our TK. But what is different is that the couch/bed on the passenger's side is longer/taller than the one on the driver's side. I figured that was planned since there's a good chance one person will be taller and appreciate the longer side and the shorter side allows more counter space and BR space. When we bought our rig, Todd said it had one more outside storage compartment than the other floorplan, too. That was one of the main reasons we bought this model. But maybe they changed the floorplan   since?

My guess is that it was simply pulled out a bit for some reason - maybe to demonstrate how the beds are made. LD couches are designed for the seat to slide out continuously as desired, and for making up into a bed.

I don't know the measurements of the couch base cushion in the FD (or FL), but in my TK, the passenger's side couch base measures 30" wide X 73" long. The driver's side couch base measures 34" wide X 71" long. My rig is a 2003, but, as far as I know, the couch measurements for the TK have been consistent for many years.

I'm surprised that the OP didn't ask to see a spec sheet when s/he was at the factory, or borrow a tape to measure the couches (and the compartments, and everything else that needs measuring when considering a model)?

Having owned both models over the years  and now have returned to a 2015 TK,  the advantages of the flexibility of the king size/twin beds and comfort of having two opposing couches  outweighs the wonderful rear bath of the FD. I miss the ability to change clothes comfortably in the large bathroom but love the kitchen, and surrounding windows in the TK.   Good luck with your choice.

P.S. The couches sit upright identically and the only difference is that one is longer.

We love our 2015 TK, can't wait to back into a beach parking spot next spring, and take in the views. (winter storm coming tonight in MN)

There are a number of different ways you can have the sofas in the twin king.  there is a back board which can be moved forward and there are two brass fittings which slot into place, thus will give the sofa a reclining back and seemingly a smaller seating area.  I have one sofa like this as I find it more comfortable to sit on. The other one I have with the back board flat and I pull out the seat a few inches to use it as a twin bed, as I no longer like to climb up and use the overhead bed.
