Covers
I am shopping for a new cover. Stitching failed on my first ADCO and the So Cal sun disintegrated the "upgraded" replacement. I'm strongly leaning toward a Goldline. The fabric is woven 600/300 denier polyester. I am wondering if any one has experience with the longevity of Goldline covers or has a better product that has lasted more than 2 years. I currently uncover every 3-4 weeks for 7-10 day trips then recover. Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions.

Welcome to LDOF, Mr. Craig. If you have a Lazy Daze, what year and model is it?

Hi Chris, thanks for the welcome. We have a 2005 22' Minnie Winnie for about 4 years (first motor home). I am interested in purchasing a 2010 or newer 24" LD TK. Just waiting for the right one to come available.

Thanks for the welcome Ed & Margee. This is a great forum. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful as most motor home folks are.

Hi Tim, welcome to the group. Wishing you luck on your search for a LD.  :)

I live in the Bay Area and although our climatic conditions aren't quite as severe as yours that seems to me to be an awful lot of work manipulating a cover on and off as frequently as you do. My 2004 30'IB has weathered all these years without any cover at all and still looks great. But, YMMV!   8)

Many years ago we tried a cover but ran into a problem with the wind blowing the cover off or it throwing a lot of dirt and dust up and under the cover.
The dirt and dust can damage the paint, sanding the paint down as the wind blows the cover around..
After almost being blown off the top of our LD, dealing with the cover, I gave up on it, the thinking being that extended time in the hospital would be much more expensive, and painful, than dealing with paint fading over time.
I'm still alive and the LD's paint looks OK for being outside for 15 years, LD uses a very high quality paint.

Right now, we are having a heavy wind storm, a warm Santa Ana condition.

Hi Steve, no doubt superior quality of LD makes covering less of a necessity. The fiberglass and decal exterior of the Minn Winn makes covering important to preserve the finish. Especially since the previous owner never covered and the exterior on the sun exposed side was appreciably affected.

Absolutely no doubt. Waiting for the wind to start as I post this.

I don't know any cover that can hold up to years in the direct sun and wind.  The low grade ADCO I use won't, but it can get 4-5 years out of one in the shady, not as windy southeastern US.

Sunbrella has a good reputation among boaters as a durable fabric for similar conditions, and you can find sunbrella RV covers.

Thanks Rich, Sunbrella is definitely the best quality, cost is a bit prohibitive for my pocketbook but definitely would outlast most covers on the market.
