Could also be that they are seen to have over-payed  for Hymer (Roadtrek)!

How much of their supply chain will be affected by the trade war?  Will Wall St factor that into next quarter's expectations?

Roadtrek is owned by the Erwin Hymer Group North America; EHG bought the brand in 2016. Thor and Forest River own about 80% of the RV production in the US under many different brandings, but apparently not Roadtrek.

Thor purchased Hymer international last week.

With Thor owning Airstream and Roadtrek (two high quality brands) it will be interesting to see if those brands retain their quality in the future!

This can't be good for Roadtrek and the RV industry in general.

I have been following the Roadtrek brand on Facebook, etc. for many years.  Without boring anyone to tears with even a condensation of the complaints . . .

I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole!

They apparently lost considerable quality about the time of the 2008 fiscal debacle; the earlier models seem to have fared better.  But, as we all know, older models of anything can have age-related problems, no matter the original quality.  I'm guessing that the downturn in the economy caused the family not to be able to keep up the quality, and they subsequently sold their interest.

The mood of the owners/members since the takeover has not been positive.  Like many other companies - Born Free comes to mind - when the original family sold out (ca. 2010-ish), that's when the quality declined.  There seemed to be some hope for improvement when Hymer took over in 2016, but it appears that most of their effort went into bringing their own brands into prominence rather than making improvements in the Roadtrek brand.

I think back to when there was the "Big Three" in car manufacturing and quality was lacking. Then came competiton from Japan and other countries and quality improved. The reverse seems to be happening in the RV industry as competition is eliminated. Hang on to your Laze Dazes.
