Gurgling sound from fridge cooling unit can't be good
I am thoroughly bummed.

I replaced the cooling unit with a new/rebuilt from Pines RV I purchased through a retailer.
Got it all hooked up. Turned on with AC power and immediately a gurgling sound started.
I followed all instructions. Thermal mastic and all but the freezer coil isn't getting cold yet after over an hour.

As I await a response from the retailer about what is going on I now have my old cooling unit and this one...UGH!

This is a pretty big job. I spent a couple of days on it.
I'll update when I find out something but a quick Google search on gurgling cooling units has me bummed.

Thanks for listening to my anguish.

Don't give up yet, the liquids need time to get properly distributed again.
If it is warm or hot out, it can taken a long time to start feeling noticeable cold in the freeze's fins.

Not sure if would help but I would consider lightly tapping on all the accessible tubing with a long, narrow stick, in case there is a air bubble or minor blockage.  Can' hurt.

Thank you Larry.
I had it on A/C for 3 hours. The freezer wasn't even cooling at all. My old unit would even in this warm weather.
I'll try the stick approach.
Every "gurgling" post I've read indicates a bad unit but I'll hold out hope.

UPDATE
Ran it over 4 hours. Tapped on the pipes a bit. Not cooling. Awaiting word from the supplier.

UPDATE

They are sending me another one.
That's good but that means another disassemble and assemble. 😢

The job should go faster this time :D

I've done my share of jobs twice, some due to my own screw ups and others due to faulty parts.

It's part of the burden a tradesperson accepts when he/she quotes a job, and it's part of what we accept when we DIY.

At least you'll know it was done right (twice!).

After installing the new cooling unit, but before replacing the refrigerator in the LD, run it on A/C to make sure it works.
It doesn't need to be installed to run on 120-VAC power.

To be clear...it doesn't need 12VDC to operate for testing?
I'd like to leave it on the floor and test it with an extension cord if possible.
