Holy Fire, So Calif
Hi All, we are just so happy to have our LD as an escape pod.  The Holy Fire that started in Orange County, Calif has spread over the top of the mountain range to Riverside County. Our development, Trilogy was notified this morning of a Voluntary Evacuation.  We had already packed up the LD and left Thursday night due to the smoke and ashfall. Watching the fire advance toward us was just too stressful.  So glad to have the LD to pack up with our belongings and our kitty and be able to stay nearby, but not in the ash and smoke.

It's nice to hear that you're planning to be safe and out of harms way.  Let's hope your home and neighborhood will be safe too.  Please keep this Forum updated about your neighborhood and your escape trip.  Our youngest son is in a Level 1 evacuation zone near Grants Pass because of the Klondike Fire and the Taylor Creek Fire.  So we have a personal sense of what it must feel like to be in hot fire zone.  Best wishes from this part of Texas.

Not really sure if any of this will help down below, but it is raining up here in Big Bear. Drove up through Lucerne about 30 minutes ago and it was a nice downpour coming up the hill.

I certainly hope this is an indication of cooler, damper weather in your area. Every little bit helps, although the weather is often so much different from area to the next.

Stay safe.

yep...we were not far from the starting point, but it was moving away from us (and towards your area) all along....I was a bit nervous as we do store our LD close to you (a bit north of you off the 15) but they were never in any real danger....fingers crossed that this thing is brought under control soon!!

Just had a nice chat with my neighbors at Serrano CG. The elder father of the group is a retired Fire Captain for San Bernardino and his son (not here) is the Battalion Chief in charge of the Holy Fire. Small world.

I enquired as to the success of the fight in the Holy Fire and I was told it was 40% contained. So progress is being made but it is a difficult fight.

Just thought I’d share this bit of news. Stay safe.

Oh Cindy! Soooo sorry to hear you've had to evacuate. Had no idea it was that close to you and yours. Please keep us up to date with developments.  Where are you escaping to? Yes, having our LDs to use when needed is a blessing. More than just a vacation rig, right?
