How about a Chilton or Hayes  service manual for the Chevrolet G vans.

The guy at the shop told me that the schematics for the older ones are hard to get. I told him that maybe I could get one from the club and he said to give it to him if I could............. as such, I am assuming it is not in Haynes or simular in print manuals?

You need a Geniune Factory manual to find an accurate schematic. Don’t waste your money on an aftermarket manual, they are too generic.

Here you go.
1984 Chevy Pick-up Truck Suburban Van Shop Service Manual Reprint C K G P -...
Not a bad price for the two volume set. Do realize this manual covers several different vehicles but it's the best available.

If you are going to own an antique motorhome, having the original Factory Service Manual (FSM) is a must.
It's getting harder to find mechanics familiar with a 34 year old vehicle. Things have changed a bit over time.

I bought the full set of factory manuals for our 2003 E450 LD, on Ebay, and have found it to be very useful .

Good Evening:

I have the 1985 Chevy 3500 that I can copy and scan to send - perhaps leave it on the server here on the LD website. My schedule will allow me to get it out on Monday. Let me know if this works for you. Stu

Oh gosh I am sorry guys, I lost track of this thread! Thank you so much for all the links and offers!  I think I will purchase the complete set as recommended by Larry, it can only help in years to come. I did the same for my GMC Bus. As it turned out,, the shop who had asked for a schematic didnt really want to do the job anyway (air conditioning) but they did say it was an aftermarket nameless add on so they returned it to me no charge (but far from fixed ugh).
