In my 1992MB the two switches in the bunk operate a fan in the bunk, and a night light located an inch or two above the access panel for the charger/inverter.  Another switch at the door operates the night light near the fire extinguisher at the door.  Just more evidence Larry knows what he's talkin about.

As Chris suggested, it would be easier if I could snap a photo and mark it up with nice circles and arrows like yours. He was paying you a compliment and suggesting ways for the rest of us to improve communication, following your admirable lead. I think.

But then I may be wrong, please don't interpret my comments as any attempt to be rude.

This is as loose as it gets!!
I am and have always been an intense, goal oriented person. I'm not the brightest bulb on the porch, but I am definitely a bulb on the porch!

Loosen up there Alice, Chris was trying to send a message that owning one of the very many variations of Lazy Daze motor homes is something of a personal experience. The switches under discussion appear in totally different locations depending on the year and model of the coach. The ownership experience is a fairly steep learning curve and it takes a person a considerable amount of time to become familiar with the terms and jargon, much less the physical reality. You are on your way, just be patient.   ;D

New owners have a certain advantage because all of that kind of stuff is explained at delivery. Folks who have purchased a well loved LD do not  share that, particularly if there was no Owners Manual with the rig.  ;)

 1) What and where is the charger/inverter???
 2) I agree Larry knows what he's talking about, the problem is I don't.  I made the pictures to explain what I found confusing in the hopes it would help Larry to help me. clear up my confusion. Like I said, I'm not the brightest bulb on the porch, but I have maintained my status as a bulb on the porch by asking questions about what I don't understand, ............... otherwise I would  have rolled off the porch, with a broken filament, a long time ago.
And I hope you understand I'm not trying to cast aspersions on any other bulb/s with my comments about broken filaments.

Just to give you an idea of the level of incandescence you're dealing with,

When I stumbled across this, looking for places to store a couple extra vent caps, I then spent about 10 hours, over  a 3 day period googling up:

'COCLER VALVE',

trying to find out what that was for.

Hi Alice. I'm guessing that that is a Dymo tape labeler version of 'Cooler valve". I bet your rig had a swamp cooler at one time (and still might). I can't tell from the photo if that is fresh water; looks a lot like a drain, (sink tail pipe) but might be the valve that sends water up to the Pla-Kool or Recair swamp cooler.  RonB

Yes, it finally dawned on me that it was a "cooler valve". Hey I may be slow but that doesn't mean I'm fast!!  However, I am still at a loss as to how to operate and service the swamp cooler. Hence my desperation for an owner's manual.

The converter (battery charger) is part of the Power Center, it's located in the lower part of the metal box that houses the breakers and fuses.
Your rig did not come with an inverter.

Hmm something to do with the fan would be my guess. 
We have a 89TK and it has a fan in the cab over area  (above driver side seat). 

Like yours one of our light switches  at the entry door turns on the circuit of several overhead lights that also have their own individual switches. 
Maybe the switch you are asking about turns on the fan circuit in a similar way so that it can be left on and the switch on the fan used for on/off OR the switch in the fan can be left on and the switch you mention turns the fan on and off.  Similar to the light switch at the entry door.

Thank you!! Now I know the where and what  of my charger/converter.  However, as you can see in the attached photos, that STILL does not tell me what the 2nd switch in the bunk area does.

as for who is brighter, that is not even a consideration here. I am just trying to figure out what the second switch in the bunk area does.

Does your coach have a 'Utility Work Light?' It would be located on the drivers side above the area that houses you electrical cord and dump valves. Not all coaches have these lights and even the owners who do have them are not aware they exist.

My utility light switch is one of four just inside the coach door and not even my daughter knew about the work light.  ::)

The bunk area switch is for the night light near the floor.  At least in my rig.

Unfortunately No, I cannot.

As I said previously, the Work Light is located on the side of the rig (normally the drivers side) where your 'utilities' are. Think dump valves and power cord! Some are white and some are amber, both are usually the size of a grapefruit. It's there to illuminate the area where you would be working if you had to make hookups at night.

The switch, mine in particular, is no different than any other. Mine happens to be located just inside the coach door along with three others.

Find your work light (if you have one), throw your mystery switch one way or the other and check the outside work light until you acertain that the mystery switch is or is not activating the light.  ::)

AWESOME INFO!!!  Thank You!! I will have to wait to do this because we are having some huge storms here, lightning, high winds, power outages yadda yadda.
I will definitely let you know what I find when I do this!!

Sorry if I'm late to the party, here:

In Blue, our 1990 multi-plan, the two switches by the door worked the outside light and the light above the dinette (the small one, not the flourescent).  There was also a double switch up by the overhead.  One worked the little oscillating unit (hehe, the fan), the other worked the "night light" down by the stove, for nocturnal wanderings.  Through the 18 years we've had Blue, both those switches have failed and been replaced.  Same with the bulbs.  Interesting that the 2005 Rear bath I have has the same switch set up!

Hello, I have 4 switches  on my 1999 Island Bed. They are located in the same place as the photo. One  turns light on in kitchen.one turns on work light on outside on drivers side.One operates electric step. It controls the step from retracting if door closes. One for night light on the entrance to the coach. Have fun learning. It is part of the adventure. Salhapatica

OK, "Sal". You have to tell us how/why you picked "salhapatica" for your handle. Some might not remember the famous Sal Hepatica mineral laxative which went out of business in 1958. Yes, I had to look that up.

In my unit, regarding the two switches at the door , one operates the light over the dinette like in your unit. The other switch at the door operates the outside light AND the nightlight down by the stove!!  (as well as a second night light under the fire hydrant by the door)

Of the two switches in the overhead area, one operates the fan like in your unit, but the 2nd switch does NOT operate the night light down by the stove!


Out of curiosity, in your unit, does the switch by the door that operates the outside light ALSO operate the night light by the stove, or just the outside light??

Hi Alice. The outside light switch does light the light by the step, and to remind you that your outside patio light is on, when you are inside. Maybe someone wanted to have both lights on, and connected them together. (previous owner) RonB

  Yep, I'm thinking there was some "previous owner, custom rewiring". I thank you for the info!!! Here is a current owner custom smiley emoticon fer ya!!!
