replacement dome for shower room
Inspecting roof and find shower dome looks cracked near screws that hold it in place.  The only reference I find is 5 years old when members could not find replacement or mothership was looking for another company to order from.  Anyone out there who has had this dome replacement part find? :(   Thanks.

They make a nice beefy dome now with metal all around and a thicker plexiglass only available from the M’ship. Couple hundred bucks? Can’t remember. That may be a little tall.  I was able to change it out myself so you can too. That was probably 4 years ago and holding strong.

It comes with instructions. You won’t likely use the holes in the aluminum extrusion but will need to drill new ones. Actually, thinking about it, I think one hole lined up with the new holes in the cover. You pull off the old weather stripping. You may need to bend the aluminum extrusion a tad but it fits nice and snug.

Here is a blog by someone about this process:

Lost the 1st one while driving up I-5. The two subsequent replacements did not hold up long, despite having heavily coated them with plastic paint.

Two years ago Vince replaced the last one and I've enjoyed the upgrade ever since.  ;D

We ordered a replacement dome from the mother ship. Ours was showing a crack and it dripped a little when we brought our Sand Castle home.  We installed with their sealant.  No problems so far, 4 years since replacement.  Our Sand Castle lives outdoors in all weather, we do put a cover on for our Michigan winters.
