Re: Happy Birthday, America! Reply #2 – July 04, 2018, 05:07:32 pm On this, our Nation's Birthday, how many members are flying the good old Stars and Stripes?I do NOT have mine on display due to the fact that I have to use a ladder to mount and dismount it over the garage door. I'm covered however by a number of small replicas donated to all the neighborhood yards by a local Real Estate person. I spent a bit of time today dismounting the flag stand base and intend to remount it in a location where a ladder will not be needed. Happy 4th! 2 Likes

Re: Happy Birthday, America! Reply #5 – July 04, 2018, 07:49:07 pm Happy Fourth of July, Our flag proudly flies 365 days a year. We replace it about every 6-8 months. We have great VFW's that retire flags as needed. They even converted old post office drop boxes into drop off sites for flags. 1 Likes

One of my great pet peeves from my Girl Scout days is negligent flag etiquette: seeing a raggedy flag, or one out after dark without a spotlight, or whipping mercilessly in blizzards or thunderstorms... I've called our city & county offices to complain (to deaf ears) about flags out in storms...putting out a spotlight saves them the "trouble" of posting/retreating the Colors each day, but then they are clueless about bringing it inside during inclement weather. Can someone educate me about the blue & white flags I've see a few times, with a single black stripe? Seems odd for somebody to be creating their own version of The Stars & Stripes. Thx.Lynne 1 Likes
