Larry David
I'm not one to name my vehicles but I couldn't resist with my new to me LD. Curb Your Enthusiasm is my favorite show so I had to name my LD Larry David, Larry for short. Just curious if anyone else in here named their LD and why they chose the name. Hope I don't find out everyone names there LD Larry David, that would be depressing.

...but you did!

I'd say that most of us have named our rigs but I also bet there are very few who have chosen a person's name, that seems like a far fetch.   ::)

I also noticed many have given interesting names to their rigs.   Since we didn't have one and couldn't think of one, I started referring to it as Our Rig Without A Name.  That morphed to Our Rig With A Name, or Orwan for short.

Joel, I've always enjoyed the creativity that morphed Our Rig Without A Name into a name--Orwan.

Swayer--

My kids' names I gave thought to, otherwise it's whatever serendipitous lightbulb flashed on for the various dogs/cats/first car/etc.  For some reason Lulubelle popped into my consciousness...but as an homage to her origins, she carries the honorific LDy...I only noticed later that it's nicely alliterative--Lynne, Lilly (the 4-Legged Alarm. & LDy Lulubelle. & the same gender.

I do enjoy reading the various origin stories.  Here's to many adventures with Larry David.   ;D

It gets worse. I'm thinking of getting a framed pic of Larry David and putting it on the wall between the couch and kitchen.

I posted this a couple of years ago:

"Horatio".    Horatio's Drive | PBS

I was so impressed with Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson after seeing this PBS special that I changed the name of our LD from "Daisy" (which many others have used) to "Horatio" in honor of Dr. Jackson's amazing adventure.

I was going to call the rig Ben Venue, a play on words for the windows as well as the name of a historic farm near the place we camp with friends all the time.  The neighbors wanted to call it the Green Machine.  One day as we were loading for a trip my wife's Long Island heritage spilled out.  Two or three times when referring to the Lazy Daze she said, "da V" instead of RV.  My last car was DaMINI as a play on my last name.  So now our Lazy Daze is known as "Da Vee".

If something can poop or sneeze, it gets a name; otherwise, it remains anonymous.  ;)

Well at one time in my life I had an idea that I could write children's books.   One of the main characters was Baxter the Traveling Turtle.      Once we saw him sitting on the lot at the mothership the name just seemed to fit.

Our LD had a name from the previous owners for about 6 months.  However, our Granddaughter (Hannah) and her YaYa (Margee) couldn't bond with that name.  On several trips, the two (2) of them put their heads together and tried all kinds of names other than RV, Rig, or Lazy Daze.

We have two (2) Granddaughters that are very dear to us and they really love each other.  And as the miles passed on one of those trips, Granddaughter and YaYa decided that our LD was as special as the two Granddaughters.   One has the middle name of Katie and the other is Annabelle.  So in short order, they announced that our LD was a girl and her name was Katie Belle.  And of course, I was left out of the decision which is how it goes in these kinds of important matters.

Blue (the 1990 Multi-plan) was named "BIG BLUE" by his original owners.  At 22', he is not BIG, so just became BLUE.  License plate is LAZY BLU.  If you go to the Mothership, please say "hi" to him.

Ghost Rider (the 2005 Rear bath) has a different "naming".  I had been looking for a rear bath for about 2-3 years.  One evening shortly after my Dad passed away, Side-kick and I came in from dinner and I immediately went and looked on RV Trader and found a 2005 Rear bath in Mississippi.  Side-kick flew out to inspect and drove it home.  I've never looked on RV Trader before or after.  As Dad loved the Sons of the Pioneers, and I got that little whisper to look on RV Trader, the grey rig became Ghost Rider (Ghost Riders in the Sky, recorded by many).  do-do, do-do!!  License GHOST LD.

After I found my Lazy Daze, which was extremely clean, as I was poking around inside, I discovered a small, desiccated lizard.  I was uncertain about a name and decided to call her Ms Liz.
