Yikes! I do hope that video was directed towards most RV manufacturers and not LD. Of course, I don't expect for everything to be perfect on day one but one of the attractive qualities of LD is they seem to higher quality overall.

For those not living within a few hundred miles of Montclaire - I am guessing when you pick up a new RV it is advisable to travel around the region for a month or so should any initial repairs or adjustments be necessary?

"...travel around the region for a month or so..."

Well, a 'month or so' is a bit of a stretch! However, it may be wise to allow a few days to a week until you have tried out and are familiar with all the systems before you head for the hills. That way, should something not be satisfactory, you have the opportunity to run back to the factory and let them set it straight (or show you why you shouldn't have panicked in the first place).   :D

The issues discussed in the video are often outrageously common to RVs across the board with one acception-Lazy Daze.

Sure there may be the occasional small “fix it”, but as a rule those very minor problems are dealt with before you finish signing the paperwork.

For this reason, I did (and my DW sanctioned it) purchase our LD new from the factory. Total issues upon purchase day-Zero.

Total issues with the LD itself after 2 1/2 years of ownership and more than 13,000 miles of travel (other than my recent end cap failure)-zero.

Total issues with equipment installed in the coach-two. Quickly addressed at no charge even 2 1/2 years later by Vince. One issue an overhead led light fixture switch-fixed. The other a loose wire to the stove top piezo burner-fixed. No muss no fuss.

Would I recommend a new Lazy Daze to a friend or family member if they could afford it? In a heart beat. At least my brother purchased a ten year old Jayco Greyhawk that had enough time to have all its bugs worked out.

Like Mr. T says, “I pity the fool” who buys a SOB RV. What a crime.

We have purchased 2 new LDs from the mothership and in both cases just hung around for a day.  Any issues that came up with our 2005 did so years later.  So far, nothing wrong with our 2013.

Well that is great feedback and from my research that is what sets LD apart from 99% of the others. Considering it is such a complex system with large sections coming from different suppliers I can expect a few minor issues here and there. The video though portrayed exactly what I do not wish to be involved in.

Thanks again for all the replies!

First off -- I am a very happy and contented LD owner.   Is LD prefect - nope.   Any issue I've had with my LD was quickly  dealt with.  They are an honest and straight forward RV builder.    When you put your money down they sent you a manual that is written in plain english.   It covers all systems.  It explains all the warranties.

/major soap box rant
I posted the video for one main reason.   Buying an RV is different then buying a car or light truck.   The assumption that most all buyers of RV's is they have the same protections as buyers of cars and light trucks.   They don't.   In my mind its nothing short of criminal what some RV builders put on the road.   The RV industry is built on falsehoods covered up by major RV magazines.    It's truly a buyer beware operation.   Must of us older folks in this site remember the days when you brought a new car then had to return it to the dealer to get all the bugs out of it.

It wasn't till the Japan car invasion the Detroit woke up to quality.   Hopefully the Europe invasion will do that for RV's.

He advises the prospective buyer to go up to an owner and ask "Is this <insert name> brand a lemon?".  Once the LD owner gets up from his/her ROFL, the prospective buyer will get an earful.  We asked the owners of a 31 IB if we could have a look inside.  The DW stepped out and said "we're getting one of these", which lead to a buyers packet from the Mothership.

We bought our 2013 31' Twin Bed new....the only real issue we have had is that our Bluetooth stopped working.....in the midst of chats with Vince now to determine our next step....we live relatively close to the factory so would rather have them do a replacement versus an "audio shop"...
