Rare LD Sighting
Loni and I went to our local Costco in Culver City (CA) this morning and found this surprise parked in the lot. The bigger stance and the lock buckles for the hood gave it away as one of LD’s old attempts to move to a larger capacity chassis. We took pictures, which didn’t elicit any activity from within, so we did our shopping and returned to find the owner just opening the door. He’d been inside, and saw us taking pics but was cooking on the range at the time. His name is William and this is his fifth LD. Very nice guy. Said he’d been looking for this model for a long time and was resigned to get an SOB when he found this. It’s a 1995, and had been stored in a factory warehouse all its life when not on the road. The paint looked great. 31 foot, give or take, island bed.

Update:  looking at the Changes Through The Years, this is a Chevy GP30 chassis, which was used from 1994 to 1996; given length was 30.5.
(Former) ‘06 TK “Albatross.” And (former) Vespa 250.   Alas, no more; both are gone.😕 Great memories remain! 😄
