LDO down for a short period today
Sorry for the unexpected "not found" situation.  Blame Meltdown and Spectre and the need to address it at the server level....

Two thank-yous.  One for addressing the vulnerability at the server level.  Two for letting the affected users know why the outage occurred.  For network security, the question is the same as for kingship: "the question is not 'am I paranoid', the question is 'am I paranoid enough?' "

LDO was down again last night at about 9:30 Pacifi, time. Hopefully it's all backed up in a few places?! The rich data here would be hard to replicate!

I was having trouble accessing it early yesterday morning as well using an iPad. I wonder if the device one is using makes a difference?

No. If the site is 'down', it's down, not matter which device is used to attempt to access it. I use Down For Everyone Or Just Me - Check if a website or site is down. to check status of a website that appears to be 'down'; this site is one of a few that check site status.

Not to worry - it was a DNS server issue, not a site one. 

It took Steve quite a bit of digging to find out what was causing the problem.  He's added a back-up DNS server service to the forum which should prevent that particular issue in the future.

And yes, the forum gets backed up regularly :-)
