Lazy Daze Quality
I know this topic has been beat to death on this forum, but for non lazy daze owners the difference between a lazy daze and the status quo is astounding.

The DW and myself stopped by camping world today to  burn some time and kick tires.  We toured 2 Thor e450 class C campers and a third Mercedes chassis with a full length super slide.

The second we stepped inside a brand new 2019 camper the lack of quality is all we could see.  The wood is paper thin, everything rattles, the fit and finish is embarrassing. There was still dirt and debri from production all over the floor. The counter tops and upholstery were absolutely terrible quality. The seals on the slides look like they will be leaking in due time. The ceilings have no actual vent fans, the faucets were loose, and the whole camper was already falling apart. One thing that surprised me was how crooked every wall and corner fit together, there were creases and cracks all over. The wall sheeting is stapled to the frame and the staples covered over with semi color matched putty, this putty didn’t even partially match the walls and rubbed right off the wall. The Mercedes has a price tag of over 120k and the quality was just as horrid, to add insult to injury the heavy full length slide makes the whole chassis sit sideways when deployed.

We were amazed how pathetic these campers are built.  We have an 18 year old lazy daze with 142,000 miles.  Fit and finish is still near perfect, all upholstery shows zero signs of wear and tear.  The camper has stood the test of time and I guarantee has less problems despite its age than any of the brand new units the lot today.  We didn’t know anything about lazy daze until we got lucky and snagged one, that being said it’s unlike anything we’ve seen since we brought it home. If we ever need to sell our rig my plan is to meet the prospective buyers at an RV dealership, you have to compare side by side to ever appreciate what sets lazy daze apart from the rest.  My hope is that someday consumers would hold this industry to a higher standard, we are driving our families around in these things after all....

Some time ago I began my visit at Dixie RV (now Camping World of Hampton Roads) and spent half-a-day listening, looking and learning. I think they had twenty or so Class Cs and I spent time in every single one of them. It didn't take long for me to realize that I had zero desire for a slide-out. Now I was limited to a few models here or there. Next was Dodd RV in Yorktown, then three others in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Then up to Richmond to visit four more RV dealerships. A pattern began to emerge regarding lack of quality and overall durability.

The crooked particle board, the broken plastic, the showers that sunk when stepped in, etc. It just reminded me of cheap junk made in China that was built to be thrown away after a few years. After reading about the endless lists of warranty issues that never seemed to be resolved I seriously began to consider that I just may be required to build my own. Then it happened...

It was a dark and stormy night, thunder struck and my world began to spin. Sitting in front of my computer I hear a voice, "At last. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the RV world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?"

It was the Mothership communicating with me!

I heard the voice again, "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe about SOB RVs. You take the red pill - you stay in Lazy Daze Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."

I wanted the truth. I needed the truth. I must discover the truth!

With a calm mind and open eyes I swallowed the red pill. My screen flickered and the room around me began to glow. I squinted and held my hands up since I was partially blinded by the screen beaming out the raw and unedited truth. As I slowly opened my eyes and moved my hands aside I began to make out the letters; L...A...Z...Y......D...A...Z...E...

The voice spoke to me one more time that night, "I'm trying to free your mind, Chet. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it."

Around noon the next day I called the Mothership directly and asked to be placed on the list. My story has only just begun...
