Where are you starting your New Year?
After a white Christmas at home in Portland, Sandra and I are truly blessed by the "balmy" wind free New Years Eve in Seaside, OR.

If camped, where are you welcoming the new year?!

Camped in Texas' Abilene State Park where it was 12 degrees this morning.  Last night my bride and I celebrated our first date 54 years ago at the Perrin Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap.  Our wrangler handled the icy roads well for the 3 mile trip to Perrin's.

Brought in the new year just outside Joshua Tree National Park .  Great BLM land .  Daytime temp in the low 70's.  Woke up to this sunrise....

Let's see.  A LD Traveler from Washington State traveling and freezing in Texas is able to correctly advise another LD Traveler from Tehachapi, CA.  about some interesting places to visit around San Antonio.    Kind of tickles me ... the LDO Forum in action!

Stayed one more night at Grand Isle--decided I really didn't want to be out on unfamiliar roads )even during daylight) with folks who might start celebrating early.  The 4-Legged Alarm & I headed north this morning & are making a night of it in the parking lot of the Ruston, LA, hospital--well-lit & secure.
