ARP results
On a round trip to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix the fridge was turned off, then back on, a total of 6 times. The highest boiler temp recorded was 404F. On arrival at Grand Canyon the freezer and box were cold and fridge working normally.

The road to the Grand Canyon consists of shorter sections of steep grades and long sections of more gentle grades. Flagstaff is 7000ft and Phoenix is 1100ft with some down's and ups to get to the Grand Canyon which is around 6600ft.

I would like to have a light on the dash telling me when the fridge is off. Monitoring temperature is not good enough as it never rose a perceptible level. An indicator light will be an easy project.

Anyhow, the gizmo functions exactly as advertised, whether high boiler temps cause a short life you guys can ponder. I believe it does and am going to stick with it unless something untoward happens. If it does I'll tell you.

So far the only thing was pulling over to a rest area on a long downhill section. The fridge was totally without power because the ARP had removed it. In that state you cannot tell if the fridge control button is on or off. Pushing the on button seeing if it would light the control panel proved that the ARP had cut the power. After playing with it a bit I didn't know whether I had left it on or off. Anyhow, if the ARP has activated, don't mess with it.
