Wonderful article and old photos, Don!  For those that have never been, just the sheer size and desolation of Death Valley, even in this day, are worth the trip!

Now that a camp stove I can get behind.    Don't think DW would like it but ...... just look at those flapjacks.

Indeed - they are so perfectly shaped - that's what caught my eye.

The reference site is also very interesting; we spent some time armchair traveling.
