Larry said, "Almost everyone, with decent hearing, hates the continuous fan noise."

One of the few advantages of hearing aids...take them out & many annoyances disappear...and the four-legged alarm is loud enough to alert me to potential interlopers (or anything about which she wants to express an opinion).   ;D

LD's built in the last few years have a large, 75-amp converter.
Instead of it having a thermostaticly controlled fan, it has a cheaper, constantly on cooling fan.

Really, this is the best that LD can do? Almost everyone, with decent hearing, hates the continuous fan noise.
Other than switching to another brand of converter, many leave the converter off at night or when it isn't needed.
The converter's circuit breaker is usually number 2, from the left side, 120-VAC breaker and is labeled "Converter".

If solar is available, it may be all you need for charging most of the time, depending on your camping power consumption style and the time of the year (much less solar is available in the winter).

FYI- When our rig is parked at home,  the converter's power breaker is left off to prevent boiling off excessive amounts of battery water.
Our LD's solar is more than enough to keep the battery charged and to supply power to the few items that are aways on, including power to run the refrigerator's 12-volt control board.

Thanks a lot for confirming that it should be okay to turn that breaker off, Larry. We haven't had any issues doing it, but we are in California and don't deal with winter camping. Thanks!

Amen to that! Age and small appliances can be beneficial!    :o  :D   8)

“White noise”...I can’t live without it. For me, personally, the converter is a noise that I can live with. Far better that than the furnace blower kicking in throughout the night.

Thank goodness for the Wave Heater. Quieter than a mouse, sips propane like fine cognac and makes a pleasant night lite during any midnight runs to the RB facilities.

My only significant complaint with my 2016 MB is the 'always on' converter fan.  Apparently Steve does not think it's an issue.  It is.  Have considered replacing it but so far I just turn off the breaker switch and live with it.    Frank
