FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS A CUP ????  GEISHA COFFEE

Yesterday I went to the grocery store and brought home four bags bulging with twenty-four bell peppers in four different colors and various other produce.  The cost was $16.34.  We looked at those bags of groceries lined up in our kitchen, and realized that we could have had three times that amount of produce and still not have reached the cost of ONE CUP of Geisha coffee.

If you wonder what I am talking about, you might find this site of interest:

Experiencing Geisha, Most Expensive Coffee In The World

This video is interesting in that it shows the inner workings of a coffee plantation, including the many processes that the beans go through before they land on the grocery store shelves.  The enormous size of the coffee "flights" was intimidating.  You can fast forward through the parts where they are just walking through the jungles and looking at the coffee plants at different elevations.

Virtual hugs,

Judie

RE: "Goodness, no...  there isn't enough Excedrine in the world to counteract that much mixing!"

Sounds rather like the same aftermath as the pre-Barnwarming Spoley-Oley at the AGP house at Mizzou about this time of year in 1974...   ::)

Strong, black coffee in the morning. Nothing added.
New Holland Dragon's Milk Stout (boubon barrel aged, 11% ABV) in the evening. Nothing more needed.
Well, maybe some dark, dark chocolate. And a fine sunset... and a little fire and beautiful starry sky.

I love milk stouts and that is not one I've heard of. Will be on the lookout.

Kent,
Thanks for the video.  I enjoyed it.

Cyndy found the Dragon's Milk and brings me a bottle now and then.  She spoils me.

Jim,

+one on Harold’s recommendation of the Dragons Milk Stout. Here’s a link that can help. Dragon's Milk | New Holland Brewing

Seems there is availability near my home. Perhaps you will be so lucky.

Kent

Thanks, Kent. It isn't within 100 miles of anywhere we will be in the next 4 months. However, tomorrow we will be driving through Mesquite, NV and it is there at a good liquor store. I also, couldn't believe how many variations of Dragons Milk New Holland makes, quite a list.

Oh no, combining coffee, chocolate and beer? Why not add some fries and a nice porterhouse
While at Tractor Supply Co. for the first time in Placerville Ca getting a barn stall mat to use for levelers my friend came out with this.

chocolate-bar-pigs-n-taters

Not quite the same as your fine description but was thinking if they sold coffee it may work for the budget conscious or in need of a quick fix.
