Can you use either the 450 or 400 to blow out dust from the engine and other compartments? Are they strong enough to do that well?

Jim, that is one of the things I do with mine, using one of the smaller nozzles to maintain the high pressure with low volume.

Best product imaginable.  I was skeptical about the "Made in China" origin until I called the factory and talked directly with the president.  He explained that he spent a great deal of time in China, ensuring that his specs were being followed to the letter and the Chinese were not adding any "improvements" to his products.  Quality control all along the way, and a lot of happy customers from all the reviews I have read on this and other ViAir products.

I've had mine for seven years with zero problems.  Airs my tires up to storage pressure (80PSI) from running pressures of 60 front, 70 rear in very short order.  Gets a little hot in the process of going back up to 80, but does it quickly and only needs a few minutes to cool before storage.  Storage bag is great, and all the hardware, hoses, etc. are first rate.  You get what you pay for, and the current on-line price available of $206 delivered is over $140 less than what I paid seven years ago!

Mine arrived on the porch today.  Thanks for all of the good ideas!

Regarding using the Viair compressor to blow out the water lines, I saw a video that suggested attaching a regulator to the gun so that it won't damage the lines.  Otherwise, it's blowing 100 psi through the lines.  Is that being over-cautious?

A regulator should be used to keep pressure at about 50 pounds or so.   You need an air tank of at least 2 gallons to provide the volume of air necessary to blow the lines.   A bigger tank is better since you have more volume and don't have to spend so much time waiting for the tank to fill after blowing each line.   Read the manual carefully regarding this matter.
