By the numbers ....
OK time for my annual or was it semiannual number update.....

BTW I track the numbers just for the gee whiz enjoyment.   I and my family enjoy the use of the LD.   Someone once said  you can replace the money but you can't replace the experience and time spend enjoying your trip in this world.   But all that to the contrary your cost may be very different then my cost.   We all have different likes and dislikes, enjoys and don't enjoy ideas and travel style.   AND we all live in different places and drive differently.  Soooo with that all in mind here they come.

After 30,072.7 miles
number of gallons of gas 3,089.87
total cost of gas  $8,526.56
average cost per gallon $2.87
highest cost per gallon  $4.15 ( in Death Valley)
lowest cost per gallon $1.64
Propane
number of gallons of propane   66.46
total cost of propane   $170.10
average cost per gallon $2.57
Camping
total nights camping  201
total cost of camping $4,334.02
average cost per night $21.56

total cost per mile for gas, propane and camping
$13 030.68/30,072.7 = .23 cent

Of course this number isn't including insurance, tire replacement, oil changes, depreciation, food,  and other asst. costs.  And my favorite - opportunity cost (if I invested the money in something else rather then spending it on the LD what kind of return would I get).   What is an opportunity cost? definition and meaning - BusinessDictionary.com

Bottom line and here I'm making a educated guess the 'real' cost is  close to 50 cents per mile.    Yes RVing in not a cheap life style.

Fifty cents a mile is used by many as an estimated cost per mile. I don't want to think about how much we have spent in a 160,000 miles of LDing.
It's been fun.

I look at it this way. Far better than any Uber ride I'll ever get. More reliable and I get along with the driver fairly well.

Uncounted miles, years, and expenditures in car and 'back of the pickup' tent travel and camping. 10k miles of same with a tent trailer. 90k of same in a Toyota Dolphin. 103k and a lot more of the same on the LD. If I calculated all the associated costs of 'RVing' over the miles and years and rigs, I'd quite likely be hunkered under a bush gibbering to myself. No calculations for me, just a lifetime supply of experiences and memories!  ;)

That does not seem so unreasonable, IRS 2017 business reimbusement rate is $0.53.5/ mile.  Other things are deducted at around $0.14 / mile.
I am a little tainted though, the 1988 MB currently only ges 5 MPG, so gasoline costs me $.50/ mile.

That being said, I suspect your cost per mile may be a little low.  According to AAA:

Your Driving Costs | AAA NewsRoom

I'm guessing .75 per mile may be more realistic.
