Explosive deployment of Fiamma Awning
I was going to put out the awning a few feet, on an older Mid Bath I'm checking out (2001). Fortunately I was in my drive way, with nothing in the way. About a 1/4 crank and the awning deployed all the way, explosively. It cranked in ok. I guess I undid the lock, and it took off. Looking on the internet yielded the probable cause, worn bushings allowing the entire worm gear to move out of engagement. Putting pressure on the winder put the gear back into contact, so that it would crank in.
Has anybody else had this happen?  I put a strap around the awning for now. The parts situation in Florida is in the back of my mind. RonB
