Re: Great Eclipse Photos Reply #5 – September 03, 2017, 08:43:40 pm First things first; those are some of the best photos I've seen of the eclipse. As an amateur astronomer, I've seen quite a few. I might mention that on the next to last image posted, where Ken mentions seeing Baily's beads, the image shows 3 prominences; 1 at "12 o'clock", and 2 at 3 o'clock. I don't see any "beads" in that image, although Ken might have either seen them visually or in another photo. The prominences look like red flames coming off the edge of the moon, although they are actually (literally) on the edge of the sun.Ken 2 Likes
