kitchen faucets
Our 2000 LD TK has the old style kitchen faucet, and it's hard to fill tall pans, or clean them.  The space under the sink is very tight, and out of easy reach.  Has anyone installed a new taller faucet, if so, what brand, and how did you get around in the tight space?  I noticed the newer LDs have tall faucets in the kitchen - would love that!

Pull-out vs. pull-down - which is better? Our house, cabin, and LD all have pull-outs in the kitchens, and I would never do it again. This type requires a firm handgrip to use, and considerable maneuvering to get into the proper position, many times pulling out a lot of hose to accomplish the task. Pull-downs can typically be positioned and maneuvered with two fingers and minimal fuss, if the spout rise is high enough. Our LD came with its faucet, and in both stick-n-brick locations few pull-down models were available at the time we made those decisions. In the future, I will only look at pull-downs. Just IMHO.

We have one of each. Pull down is our main use faucet. Great for washing the big pots. To me, the LD sink is not big enough for it to matter. It is more like our bar/vegetable sink at home where a pull out is adequate.  But your experience seems to suggest you favor the pull down, so why not? We spent days agonizing over faucet choices for our home. We use them very often each day, the kitchen is the center of our inside activities, but we now chuckle with our obsession, finding it didn't matter as much as we thought. But that's just us.

The name explains why I had to choose this one. Works great. "

Very cute, Paul.  I have that same unit on my kitchen sink in the S&B.  It is nearly impossible to turn it from side to side without extraordinary effort.  Our handyman has tried and tried to deal with it - he installed it and can usually fix ANYTHING - but it remains recalcitrant.  Also a bit of the holder area broke off after about five years, so the neck hangs a little loose.  I've learned to "unlike" this unit.

Wisely, said handyman is spending the summer in Port Angeles, so he has changing out that fixture and replacing our dead dishwasher awaiting his return.

Weather in PA area- perfect. Your handyman should be a happy camper.

Yup!  He's sent pictures of the Strait looking out his kitchen window.  One of my favorite places.  Someday I will spend the whole summer and fall up there again.  We favor Sequim, but the run to Port Angeles is doable to catch the ferry to putter across to the Victoria waterfront for the day.  So many pictures to be taken; so little time!  ;->

For some reason, I am having a problem envisioning a "pull down" faucet.  Can someone share a link?

I'm with you 100%, Steve. It's maybe a little hard to explain to someone who has only used pull-out faucets, but the pull-down style is SO much easier to use! I replaced the pull-out kitchen faucet in my Airstream with a Moen Arbor pull-down faucet, and I'd never go back.
