Towing capacity of a 1996-ish 26.6 LD Ford F350 chassis
Assuming a strong enough tow hitch,  can anyone get me in the ball park on what a '96-ish  F350 is capable of towing?
So many factors affect Towing Capacity, so just want a ball park range for now.

Thank you !

The gvwr of a 1996 Ford E350 (F350 is a pickup chassis) with the 460 V-8 is 11500 pounds; "loaded" for the road, it's very likely that a 26.5' rig would already be very close to its maximum gvwr. I can't recall what the listed gcvwr was for 11500 pound gvwr E350; maybe an owner with this (or close) model year(s) will look in their manuals and post that information?

According to the "Changes by Year" document (link on the home page of this board), 1996 was a "transition" year between the 11500 gvwr E350 and and the first incarnation of the E350 with a 6.8L V10 and a higher gvwr, i.e., 14050 pounds; which chassis do you have?

Thank you, JCT.  Found out it is the lower rated chassis.
