Portable Jump Starters May 21, 2017, 12:59:59 pm This has been discussed in the past and we have the Antigravity XP-10. Thought I would pass this along since it is a detailed review of a variety of starters. The Best Portable Jump Starter | The WirecutterJim 1 Likes

Re: Portable Jump Starters Reply #3 – May 22, 2017, 10:16:36 am I prefer to let others "beta" new product offerings (so I plan to get the Antigravity), but if one opts for one of the new Weego products, be sure that its "start power" is compatible with the V-10; it appears that the "66" model is the only choice.
Re: Portable Jump Starters Reply #4 – May 22, 2017, 11:18:18 am Our XP-10 is two years old. It has been used several times since on a variety of vehicles, mostly my clueless neighbors .When new, I disconnected the LD's starting battery and used the XP-10 to start the V-10 ten times in a row.Ten seemed to be a lucky number. When traveling, we leave the XP-10 in the toad, so it's always available. On the other hand, I bought an XP-1 for my wife's car that was bad out of the box and would not hold a charge.Amazon accepted it's return and sent a new, good battery, in just a couple days, after requesting a replacement. The replacement works fine to start her Subaru's engine. If you buy one of these batteries, on delivery, make sure to give it a good test, verifying it's operational. The even better news is we can get rid of the old, big and heavy, gell-cell battery jumper. It's amazing that batteries, the size of paper back books, can pack so much power.Larry

We have used it once on a friend's car and it worked as advertised. I am amazed how long it holds a charge. I believe I have topped it off a couple of times. I didn't test it on the LD since I had seen Larry's comment about his testing and that was enough for me.In the article the one ding I recall for the antigravity was the clamps and based on my one use I would tend to agree. At first, it didn't start the Toyota Camry and I had a bit of a hard time getting what felt like a good grip with the clamps. However, that was probably just me.Jim
Re: Portable Jump Starters Reply #6 – May 22, 2017, 10:41:39 pm We bought the XP-10 also and added a 12v accessory plug so we can plug any 12v powered item with the old cigarette lighter plug right into it and have portable 12v power. I have a small 50W inverter and we plug it in and run our string lights off it all night. Also we can run our digital movie projector for about 2hrs to watch movies outside away from the LD. We have yet to use it for it's intended use of starting dead batteries although we did test it the first week we got it and it worked great. Karen ~ Liam 98~MB

Re: Portable Jump Starters Reply #8 – May 23, 2017, 09:45:36 am Jim, I found the 12v accessory adapter on Amazon and bought it when I bought the power pack. But as it turns out I bought the Bolt Power G06 Portable 600 AMP battery unit because it was better priced and had a cigarette adapter available. I see that there is an adapter for the XP-10 on Amazon and have added it below. ~Liam 98~MBAmazon.com: LOTUS POWER LOTUS POWER Ec5 Cigarette Lighter Socket Adaptor for...Amazon.com: Antigravity Batteries AG-MSA-20A Female Cigarette Socket: Automotive 1 Likes As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
