Ruby takes a beating
Hellacious storm through Omaha last night with half a city nailed with hail stones up to the size of baseballs. 😒

Ruby has little superficial chips in the lower couple inches of her winshield. The overcab and having the bra on probably saved greater damage. ALL items on the roof came through, yay! Those vent covers do more than allow for open vents during rain.

Swapped out the old, crappy skylight for the newer model with the metal frame. Sound as can be! That old brittle thing would have been shattered.

There are small dents in the roof here and there. I don't see any issue with them beyond cosmetic. Should I look for something more up there?

I'm so sorry for this lousy news about hail damage, which is among my worse fears while traveling in our LD.  I must commend you for your upbeat attitude as I read your post.  Sadly, I'd be a basket case!  Tell Ruby it's going to be okay!

Story: was METICULOUS about Ruby when she was new. Those cartoons of people wiping smudges from windows was me. When Ruby was two in 2006 we went to the big hoedown in Cheyenne. I got on the roof as soon as we parked and leaned over the front and was wiping the bugs off the over cab. Had a couple folks comment that as soon as I was done I could come over and clean their rigs. 😆

Well, on the second or third day my bike was sitting next to Ruby's curb side back end. I don't recall what happened but my bike tipped and fell into Ruby and put a gouge in her back curb side panel. I stood there horrified for what seemed like forever. Some guy came by, looked at it, and said, "no big deal, just a little nick".

That really stuck with me. I realized that an LD is built like a brick ****house and cosmetic dibs and dabs  don't mean anything. That's what I'm thinking about Ruby now. She is 13 years old and looks great on the exterior with a little paint fade. The interior looks as if it's new.

Moral of the story: take good care of your rig but don't sweat the small stuff like a few nicks and blemishes. You are driving one of the most special RV's made so be happy with that and enjoy your rig!!!!

Bringing my MB home I took a wrong turn and had to back into a narrow street to turn around with a trailer.  Didn't realize I had turned too sharply and hit the bumper on the aluminum toolbox on the trailer until I was home.  Kinked the toolbox pretty badly and left a scuff on the bumper.  Oh well, could be worse.
