Water Heater Door Camlock
I'm willing to bet that I'm the only one on this August Forum to NOT know how to replace the water heater door latch (camlock).  I'd hate to reveal how long I looked at that part without any idea how to remove it.  Youtube came to my rescue.

So simple ... I just have to shake my head and wonder if I was just born this way?  And so it goes.

We replaced the chipped blue OEM camlock with this one.  Also used a piece of white Gorilla tape to protect the opening, which also had some paint chips.  If I find something more attractive than white Gorilla tape, I'll change it.  I was able to do this without any pain or suffering!   Btw, has anyone found matching paint for the either the white or blue exterior paint without going to the factory?

The white has traditionally been Ford's oxford white, which has been used on about a billion Ford trucks and vans.
Touch up paint is available just about anywhere.
The blue is a custom mix so you are stuck with either using the tiny Factory touch-kit or having the paint custom mixed.

I bought Oxford White touch-up paint from Ford.   The large pin like device came with a paint brush on one end and clear-coat on the other end.  DW hunted for the areas that needed touch-up and I applied the paint and clear-coat (several days between steps).   When I said "take a look" she couldn't find the areas she had previously found.   Sometime next week, I'll put some wax on those touch-up areas.  We're very pleased with the results.
