Mine had 24 year old original sealant, it looked as you describe, like amber, and stored indoors, it was still somewhat pliable and completely functional.I pulled it all off using a multi cutter tool like this RYOBI Tools With the putty knife attachment. Well, actually about four of those attachments. I used 3M 4200 around the junk on the roof, and Eternabond along the roof seems. All very satisfying. I would not let anyone but the factory or myself do my endcaps. Well, maybe Larry. These are a tedious job, but if they don't need to be removed, not very difficult. At least to me. Plenty of how tos here to get you going.

They are a little pricey, but they are really comfortable. Also, you can move them from one place to another and adjust the firmness easily. When my wife's back bothers her, I bring her Dream Time into the house and she sleeps on it on top of our regular mattress in our bedroom.Have fun with your new rig!HD
