Towing Accident
We don't tow (carry a Vespa instead), but came across this writeup, with excellent photos, of a failed (or sabotaged?) tow arm connector and the subsequent events. Those of you with R-pin safety mechanisms might want to take note, as this failure is reported as not uncommon in older equipment. -- Jon

(Former) ‘06 TK “Albatross.” And (former) Vespa 250.   Alas, no more; both are gone.😕 Great memories remain! 😄

I read that Wheeling It account of the towing accident.  We have a BlueOx system and use BlueOx retaining clips shown in this Amazon link.  Amazon.com: Blue Ox 84-0140 Tow Bar Replacement Retaining Pin: Automotive

I'm wondering if anyone has found a more robust/reliable retaining pin?    In addition, we routinely check our towing equipment when towing ... BR Break ---> check the tow .... Gas Station Break ---> check the tow Change Drivers ... ditto.    At the end of the day, it's us looking out for us.

And so it goes.
