Vinyl floor under the sofa
So the DW wanted the old carpet out.  Vinyl plank flooring sounded good (heavier than just vinyl lighter than some other options) with lots of floor rugs that can be taken out easily for cleaning. I'm really bad about taking pictures as I go along but the carpet came out.  The vinyl in the kitchen pulled up with the plywood under it as well.  The wife found a slight squeak in the floor around one of the kitchen cross members.  I added some screws to prevent movement and a layer of plywood(2.7mm) for a level floor with cut outs for the mounting bolts. I have most of everything installed and now running into problems.  First how to protect the vinyl under the couch slides, fabricate rollers?  I figure that is why the factory left carpet back there.  Next the entrance molding, just use some aluminum stair molding?

Nice job! I used one piece of vinyl cut to fit for my floor. The stairwell was a challenge. I used the old aluminum transition strip/stair mounding all the way around and glued vinyl to the sides. It works with my vinyl but may not look as good with your solution.

Craig, first, I don't think it was your photos that caused the error messages. In any event, that problems seems to be solved.
Nice job on the flooring. Questions: Did you only replace the plywood in the kitchen area where the original vinyl was? By doing that, did the newly installed plywood match up with the subflooring under the carpeted areas thus making everything level?
For under the couches, have you thought of using vinyl furniture glides or something similar?

I installed a complete plywood subfloor to the entire coach. I plan on using Furniture Glides but I'm afraid dirt will get trapped and still scratch the vinyl. Fortunately I have some spare left over tiles that I can replace scratched ones.

We laid wood laminate in the dinette/kitchen area. I pulled out the dinette slides and applied felt that is about 3/16 thick. Works too well, the dinette seats slide out when I'm cornering too aggressively. I worry about dirt turning them into sanders, so I pull the sliding seats out once in a while to brush the felt clean.

Craig, do you or anyone else who has replaced carpet in the LD have an opinion which product, wood laminate or vinyl laminate, is more scratch resistant - to dogs in particular?

Sorry, I'm not Craig, but I have done some flooring. I can tell you based on flooring a few homes with both wood and vinyl that wood is more susceptible to scratches from dogs. Especially when they get excite or a running start and are medium or bigger sized. The best wood to camouflage the scratches were the rough hewn finishes.

I hope that input is not too far off base.

My dog at 16 years old will not be a good test.  It looks like it will hold up.  Time will tell
