Revisiting: fresh water tank safety
Ok so I know the subject of fresh water tank safety has been discussed in the past, but I thought as there are many new LD/RV enthusiasts in the group that it may be a prudent idea to revisit the topic.

Andy, in Yahoo Message 132401 about four years ago, advised storing your in line water filter in the fridge when not in use to prevent algae growth.

Taking this to heart I started to poke around the net for more details on the matter of water filter safety.

I located a thread on rv.net on "water filter storage". A very interesting discussion that backs up what Andy mentioned.

So with that, I will be draining and purging my fresh water tank using a new Camco Blue in-line water filter prior to heading out of town. Afterward the filter will be drained and stored in the fridge to retard the onset of algae growth.

Just a heads up to all our new LD friends.
