Re: New Dometic Fire Source Reply #1 – August 03, 2016, 11:40:40 am Note there are two types of the mentioned 30A to 15A adapters. They can be distinguished be examination. The dangerous variety does NOT have the pins lined up at either end, and internally wires are used, often very small gauge. The other type DOES have the pins lined up, and the connections are usually direct. However, you should be able to move the pin on one side and see the female connection on the other side wiggle. If not, do not use.Steve
Re: New Dometic Fire Source Reply #2 – August 03, 2016, 12:28:31 pm Instead of using this type of 30-amp to 15-amp adaptor, use a dog bone type. Re: New Dometic Fire Source Reply #4 – August 03, 2016, 06:48:51 pm RV Owners Sue DometicOK OK now for a bit of clarification. This suit claims over 3000 fires since 1977. According to my math that about 38 years or 456 months. If you divide 3000 by 456 months that's around 8 fires per month. If the number by the RV industry are correct then about 10 percent of the adult population owns a RV. In round low ball numbers that around 3 million or so RVs. So even if I take a lower number lets say 1 million the odds of getting a fire in any one month is close to 0.000008. Note I haven't include marine units or England and Europe. To think that Sweden, England and any other Europe country would allow a 'fire danger' unit on their roads is to really misunderstand the rules and laws outside the US were humans are more important property. A question -- has anyone seen or heard of a refrigerator in a LD?
