Lower Radiator Hose May 30, 2016, 11:52:36 am Just thought I would throw this out there as I was quite surprised by the cost of the part and labor. Our LD is close to 10 years old and over the past year I have had a few things done that I consider preventative. Recently while having shocks and other work done I had the lower radiator hose and heater hoses replaced. The lower radiator hose cost was $227 and labor was $188. It includes the transmission cooler hoses and I can't recall what that other connection was for.Jim

All the hoses in the cooling system (upper and lower radiator hoses, heater inlet and outlet hoses, oil cooler hoses, and coolant reservoir hoses) in my 2003 were replaced at 90k in mid-June, 2015; the parts cost for just the hoses was very close to what you paid, and the labor was higher, i.e., roughly 2 hours of just hose replacement labor @ $125.00 per hour. Obviously, labor rates vary among locations and shop types; this was a Ford truck center in California.

Buy them and take to the shop. Don't forget to change the heater hoses at the same time. It's also a good time to check the water pump, fan clutch, the serpentine belt and idlers, all the pieces that turn.2003 E450 radiator and heater hoses | Flickr - Photo Sharing!Larry As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
