Wind Gust or Speed Limits
We''re experiencing 30 mph wind gusts and I'm reluctant to raise the TV  antenna.  Looking for guidance.  Thanks in advance.

Over-the-air antenna or something like the Winegard Trav'ler?

The Trav'ler is supposed to take winds up to 50 MPH, although I usually put it down well before that.  If you're talking about the over-the-air antenna, I don't know what the wind speed is that it can take, but with its thinner profile, I'd guess more than the Trav'ler can take.  At 30 MPH, I probably wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting a lot of play in it and/or it's making a lot of noise.

Heck, I've driven on I-40 for (ahem) many miles with my Wineguard batwing full up. No damage, except to ego. -- Jon

What usually happens, if it doesn't hit something, is it slowly wears various, replaceable plastic parts, allowing it to wobble even more.
Luckily, replacement parts are readily available and not too big a deal to install.

Done it more than once.
