Hi Folls,

One reason I love my 27' RB (among many others) is the fact that I can back up the captains chair to accommodate my 6' 1" frame (well maybe a bit less as age has shortened my ruler). This put me within the lower cab curtain zone.

While driving and the curtain is tucked along my left shoulder, it hung a bit too loosely as it came from the MS. It would rub against my shoulder, cheek and head.

Not ideal for travel as it was a constant distraction. I came up a simple solution by making two Velcro/Buckle straps to bunch the curtain more tightly above and below the factory strap.
Very easy to make and set in place.

I added a few pics in the photo gallery to show them in action.

A simple fix to a pesky problem.

Great idea with the buckle straps,I may need to use it when we p/u our new LD next January. Spoke with Todd today, looking at delivery first 2 weeks of January . With your new coach how is the gas mileage with the 6speed tranny. Some are saying the 6 speed is helping. Do you notice any improvement? Thanks. Tim

Hi Tim,

My 27' RB is a 2015 with the 5 speed transmission. It has the Tow Haul feature.

The Tow Haul is a great feature. It limits the transmission from shifting up or down to respective gears. Great for coming down long grades and for taking the rig around those mountain turns we all love so well.

Tow Haul is also nice when coming to those pesky red lights by saving the brakes. Average mileage so far with under 3,000 miles is 9.6 mpg.

The straps I assembled via eBay. Picked up the buckles for 10 pair for under $10. The Velcro strap is double sided "hook & loop". 16' for $6.00. I also use longer versions to store the memory foam mattress toppers that are stored in the cab over.

Velcro is great stuff. Used some to help keep the fresh water hose from "popping" out when filling the fresh water tank. Frees up my hands and time.

You are going to love your new LD. They are all great coaches. Have fun. Sorry about the wait. Our wait was 14 months. Plenty of time for some awsome dreams.

Enjoy,

Kent

Tim,

Not sure you'll find data on the 6sp models yet, but 2015 TK with 5R110 trans checking in. After one year, overall average is 9.28 mpg. 9.7 since the first 2000 miles so it's still increasing.

We're probably 1000 lbs under the 3676 OCCC, no towing.

My wife will really love his idea. Thank you on the mileage info. Now that we have our order in the anticipation is really getting hard. Great group, hopefully Bev and I will meet many in the group in our travels.
