Compartment Locks (Again) February 09, 2016, 05:23:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 158654I've reviewed the posts on this topic. One of them said that a Lazy Daze has three different lengths for the lock barrels, but didn't identify the rig model in question. I have a TK. I'd rather not pry off all the (well-stuck) locks to measure them before ordering replacements from CH751.com. Has any TK owner ordered replacement locks and just happened to have saved the invoice with the measurements? My "in situ" measurements seem to all come up with a size (1 3/8) that is not offered. Thanks. Jon ('06/07 TK "Albatross")

Re: Compartment Locks (Again) Reply #2 – February 09, 2016, 07:25:17 pm Yahoo Message Number: 158660Jon, I replaced the compartment locks in our '04 FL, and this is the list:Order Contents:Qty | Item # | Description | Price Each | Total Price 1 | TCL58 | 5/8" Tubular Cam Lock | $15.00 | $15.00 Cam Length: 5/8" Cam Bend: None Key Cover Color (Free): Brown KEYING: Keyed Alike 3 | TCL78 | 7/8" Tubular Cam Lock | $15.00 | $45.00 Cam Length: 1 1/2" Cam Bend: None Key Cover Color (Free): Brown KEYING: Keyed Alike 1 | TCL78 | 7/8" Tubular Cam Lock | $15.00 | $15.00 Cam Length: 1 1/2" Cam Bend: 1/16" Key Cover Color (Free): Brown KEYING: Keyed Alike The first item is the water fill door, and would have been ideal with a cam bend of 1/16". I bent it on my own. The last item is for the generator door, which fit fine, but required carving a clearance notch on the battery tray handle. The middle item is for the other compartments, and they were direct replacements. Any questions, call or e-mail.Steve
Re: Compartment Locks (Again) Reply #3 – February 10, 2016, 12:11:07 am Yahoo Message Number: 158664SteveThanks for posting the list, the part numbers will come in handy. Having the ability to custom order is great, LD's have used several size locks over the years. Could post a link to the vendor?FYI -We spent a day at the big tent in Quartzite with a group of LDers, while attending the January LD Caravan, in Parker Az.. Steve found a booth that sold custom assembled round compartment keys. A few days later he ordered a set of locks and received them in three day, now that service! For the few that don't know, the stock CH751 key, that every LD's exterior compartment uses, will open probably half the RV's compartment in the country. While it is easy to pop a compartment open with a screwdriver, switching to round keys makes a little more difficult for a potential thief, equipped with a C751 key, and hopefully send him down to the next rig with stock locks.Larry

Re: Compartment Locks (Again) Reply #5 – February 10, 2016, 10:01:33 am Yahoo Message Number: 158672No, I haven't had a theft, but the common key thing has bugged ever since a trip to Yellowstone. At a campground there an SOB owner wandered over to look at the LD. While chatting, he commented that I probably had "751" locks and promptly took out his key and opened one of my compartments. Like Larry said, I'm only hoping to encourage the casual thief to move on to the next rig. Nothing will stop the determined crowbar. I'm a master procrastinator, and am prompted to attend to this now as I was at the Q Big Tent with Steve and Larry and came across the same vendor, which resparked my interest. Thanks to Steve for posting his measurements. My "in place" measurements were all much longer. -- Jon ('06/07 TK "Albatross")
Re: Compartment Locks (Again) Reply #6 – February 10, 2016, 10:15:34 am Yahoo Message Number: 158674Early in the years we had our MB, I measured all the locks and ordered locks with the cylindrical keys, because there were so many CH751 locks and keys around. Even our Class A DP has a couple of locks that use the CH751 (but locking nothing very important).Art
