Tracking the Life and times of a LD

Hello; I have a question I have not been able to find anything on but then I'm not very computer smart on your methods of posts and such.
We have an older LD and since all have a name of the person who had it built on the unit we were wondering if it is possible to search for the original owner and find out some history on the unit??   Like where it was originally located, any problems or major repairs that had to be done ect???   I think there could be quite a bit of valuable info there? You know like in a volunteer system like posting the make, model and year with the name and seeing if anyone on the sight knows anything?   Not actually searching people out that might not want to be bothered.
It is such a friendly sight I just thought might be of interest.

Thanks Grumpy

It might be more fruitful to research at the registration records to find previous owners.
Many original LD owners, including myself, do not have their last name on the plaque, using either a nick name, no name or the name of someone else..
I use an old plaque off another LD. So if someone tried getting me to come out of my rig, by using what they think is my last name, I will know is a scam and to take appropriate action.

I used the app mycarfax on android. You get a free car fax report by vin number of the vehicle. I then add info to it to track all of the maintance I do for the next owner to view since I don't have a shop doing any work.

Try carfax.  You have to pay for it, but it tracks registrations, air admissions, etc.  It was really helpful in discovering that our 1986 LD really only had 32,000 miles on it when we purchased it.  Also, gave us prior owners which we were able to verify  once we purchased and matched all the records the prior owners had kept.  The file in the LD actually had a copy of the original purchase order and every thing they had had done to the rig.
