Option: tan leather seats

Anyone with these seats have a comment on them?     Are they really leather and are they comfortable?

My '02 cloth seats get uncomfortable after hours.    Might be the nature of Ford seats.

My '06 Ford truck has leather seats and they're great.

The seats on my 07 Mid Bath are vinyl that look like leather.  The look is convincing enough but the feel is not.  I am not sure if the newer LDs uses the same material.   I have driven as much as 700 miles in a day once but mostly go no more that 300-400 a day.   Comfort wise the seats are ok, but not great.  They are not very supportive and in hot weather can be a little sticky (I live on the east coast).

At a North East Lazy Daze meet I got to sit in a 2013 MB with cloth seats and liked them better. The seat is made differently and has much better support.  I am not sure which model year the seats changed but I would  start looking at the 08 when Ford stretched the front cab area a few inches. Another question is if the seats are from Ford or from a third party.

I will likely put sheep skin seat covers on my seats.  But if I hit the Lotto maybe I would consider a seat swap to what the LD mother ship is using now.

I second what John said. My 2003 LD (purchased used in 2006) came with "faux leather" seats. (Everybody knows that "faux" is just French for "fake," right?) They were sticky and uncomfortable--hot in summer and cold in winter. I immediately covered them with lambswool seat covers. Much more comfortable! That's my opinion, anyway.

Nothing beats lambswool seat covers unless it's real leather with heated seat option.      Probably doesn't matter as I sit on a gel cushion anyway.    If they aren't real leather, might as well go cloth.    By the way, my real leather seats in my '06 Ford truck are comfortable year round between Colorado and California.

Just another suggestion for seat covers:  You can order fitted neoprene seat covers.  I have them on my car.  They're not sticky in the summer, stay warm in the winter, and they're easy to clean.  The advantage to neoprene is that it doesn't absorb water like the sheepskin.  I ordered mine for about $150 each.

Roof snow loading

It has been a very el-nino winter down here in the Colorado San Juans. On our property, we have a settled snowpack of about 40" after about 100" of snow year to date.

Yesterday I cleared about 2 1/2 feet of snow off the roof of my 1989 22' MP. It was hard work, and I'd guess it weighed somewhere between 500 and 1000 lbs.

Does anybody know how much weight these were designed to handle?

It seemed to shrug off that snow load just fine, but it doesn't give me warm fuzzies.
