RVS rear camera issues
Yahoo Message Number: 157476
I have a Rear View Systems camera system I bought about almost 2 years ago.
The monitor quit recently. No lights. No nothing.
The multiplexer box (where the power, camera, and monitor hook up) has power going to it.

I contacted the company and they said most likely a bad monitor. They quoted me $129 to replace it. I said it's just two years old and used sparingly in my RV. They came back with $101 shipped.
I hope this is the problem and a new monitor will fix it..

This unit appears to be not very durable in my opinion.
I'd say "buyer beware" and look for something better built with a better warranty.

If your monitor is bad have you considered upgrading the dash stereo to a DVD unit? This is what I'm doing since my Alpine unit burned up. I can lose the monitor and gain back the lost dash space. If I'm waiting in a parking lot on something I can watch music videos or a movie. The back up camera will kick in with a switch or when in reverse. I have to figure that part out still. Actually Larry probable already knows. I defer to the knowledge of experts whenever possible.

Bob, My stereo is pretty new. I use the camera to monitor my tow vehicle so it needs to be on as I drive.
Good advice otherwise...thanks!
