I was just reading some postings on another RV site (how disloyal of me!) and I picked up the "news" that the road in/out of Scotty's Castle has been closed for repairs.  Apparently a flood came through the area and washed out the road.
If that was in someone's plans, please research further and adjust accordingly!

A great deal of the park was flooded with many roads closed and some people had to be rescued when they were standed. "Most" of the roads are back open, but not all and Mesquite Springs Campground, where we always stay when visiting DVNP, is still closed, too.
For those of you on Facebook, "Like" the Death Valley National Park Road Conditions page to keep up with information on road closures and openings.
If you're not on Facebook, you can go to the Morning Report on the NPS's DVNP website -- www.nps.gov/deva .

Oh, and the flooding also flooded some historic buildings at Scotty's Castle which will be closed for an unknown amount of time.
