RV Life Destinations November 25, 2015, 11:19:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157226Cheers, everyone. I'm fairly new to this group and just getting my toes wet in the RV life. I recently rearranged my entire life to trim away the things that didn't serve me and promote some personal freedom. I've spent a lot of the last two years hitchhiking around Maui and California, worktrading, learning how to live simply, developing some of the greatest relationships I've ever had and creating deep meaning in most spaces. I've decided that it's time to upgrade and put my intentions into exploring the RV life. As soon as I went down the Lazy Daze rabbit hole I was hooked. I knew that this was the rig I needed in my life. If all goes well I will soon own my first LD! (big thanks to everyone in my other thread for the guidance) I would like to hear some of your stories and suggestions for destinations around the country. Your favorite place to camp and various times of the year? Best place yo meet up with other like-minded folks? I enjoy art and music and am performance artist myself. What are some communities that might promote that kind of spirit? Must see views? Best burger worth traveling to? Etc... I've completely freed up my life so I'm open to all ideas from all directions. I look forward to your replies and cannot wait to become an LD owner.Mike

For some, that is the biggest hurdle. Before my Wife Died we did lots of exploration. Some in foreign countries. When she passed I decided to hit the road with no plan. Bought my LD. Sold darn near everything and never looked back. That was more than 4 years ago. Some of my favorite spots in summer:Bridgeport, CA. Mammoth Mountain, CA Morro Bay Ca. (Larry and Renee's GTG) Crater Lake, OR. Any of the islands off Coast of Seattle, Washington (San Juan Islands) Victoria, B.C. You will find good places to stay as you explore each area. I recommend an Escapees membership to help get you started. In winter choices are limited to snowbirding areas such as AZ. Some parts of NM, and CA. At least for for me. These old bones don't like the cold.Wishing you happiness in all your travels.bobmoore14

Beautiful Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes is just down the road, lots of great walks and if you're there in the summer a river to canoe or kayak. Fall color tends to peak end of September/early October depending on the weather - this year it lasted to the end of October. And then you just head north, cross the Mackinaw Bridge - the Upper Peninsula is FULL of natural beauty...Pat The Pearl
