Shopping around November 24, 2015, 02:38:16 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157177Does anyone know of a good link to LD's for sale? I am looking for one with the either the twin beds or couch and chairs in the rear.....basically the wrap around window in rear. Also, I am in Florida right now. Also hello to Jeannie & Riley! And old friend Judie Ashford. I am a long time Toyota owner just contemplating a change. Keep me in mind if you hear of something. Hopefully the shorter 22-24' models.

Currently, the website lists 22, RV Trader 11, Ebay Motors 1 and Craig's List 3. Some of the last three may be duplicated in the website list.Dick

The rear and rear side windows in both models are not exactly "wrap around", but they come close.Joan
Re: Shopping around Reply #4 – November 24, 2015, 08:56:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157194When we found our new-to-us LD last May, I used SearchTempest, which searches Craigslist out to whatever range you're willing to travel to. I still search LDs on there almost daily, just because I am curious as to whats out there. You should really give it a try.Bud in Ohio (for now)
Re: Shopping around Reply #5 – November 24, 2015, 09:03:37 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157195I second the use of Search Tempest. It's how we got our LD 1.5 years ago.If you are buying in CA, you may likely pay more. Try to get a CA Lazy Daze that already passes CA smog and is registered. We got an older RV and expected to sink $2000 to $3000 extra into it. And indeed we put that extra money into the older LD, and beyond that. But still happy for the decision.

This must be a symptom of some strange disorder yet un-named like LD Obsessive/Compulsive Search Mania. And so it goesYea Ole' Obsessive/Compulsive Search Mania & Margee Fort Worth
Re: Shopping around Reply #7 – November 24, 2015, 09:15:25 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157197hey OCD Fort Worth. I guess I have the same disorder bc I still search via Search Tempest every week or so.Been doing that for 2.5 years and I have seen a price drop in the last few months. If I was a buyer for another LD, I'd be very tempted now. Some great deals versus when I purchased a while back. I hone in on CA and a few Western states and prices are soft. More so than last Fall and the Fall before that IMO

Re: Shopping around Reply #10 – November 24, 2015, 10:04:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157201We found our 2000 26' mid-bath 6 weeks ago. Checking Search-Tempest, RV Trader and this forum as often as possible, we committed (subject to inspection) to purchase 10 minutes after the seller posted the ad on RV Trader. As is often the case, the well priced good ones go quick! Be prepared, do the homework and have the ducks lined up.Good Luck,Pat
Re: Shopping around Reply #11 – November 24, 2015, 10:05:48 pm Yahoo Message Number: 157202You might find the model analysis at http://www.andybaird.com/travels/LD-guide-web/models.htm helpful since it suggests which models and floor plans are popular. This information has been helpful to me.Ed & Margee Fort Worth
Re: Shopping around Reply #12 – November 25, 2015, 08:33:33 am Yahoo Message Number: 157205Greg, It's safe to say the 27' length is the most popular and within that group the Mid Bath floor plan wins hands down. Probably the Rear Bath is the 2nd most popular. In the 24' length, I believe the Twin King is most popular. It's sort of a mini Mid Bath floor plan.Chris
Re: Shopping around Reply #13 – November 25, 2015, 10:13:14 am Yahoo Message Number: 157207I agree that the 27' MB and RB are probably the most popular models, but I believe that the 24' ranks below the 31' in overall popularity.JMHO, but, aside from a "talking point", the "best" model is the one that works for *you* and your travel/camping style. Every model/floor plan has its pros and cons; the size, layout, and features one person thinks are just peachy may be completely unappealing, or even a deal-breaker, to another. It might be interesting (or not! ;-) ) and helpful to those searching for an LD to get input from LD owners on whether they would buy the same model/floor plan they currently have if they were ordering new (or were considering a newer used rig) and the brief essentials of why.As always (and for sure on this one!), YMMV.Joan
Re: Shopping around Reply #14 – November 25, 2015, 11:17:18 am Yahoo Message Number: 157210We favor the 27' MB with the rear lounge after considering the other 26.5/27" models. We particularly liked the flexibility of closing off the rear lounge from the bath area and kitchen/dinette area. In fact, we consider the MB as having four (4) separate areas. The rear lounge can be closed, the bath area and adjoining closet area can be closed from both the rear lounge and kitchen area, the kitchen and dinette area is a separate space, and the cabover has privacy curtains. This arrangement has helped with noise, privacy, and sleeping options. When DW and I travel alone, we really like the different areas so that one can nap, read, watch a DVD movie, cook, and so forth with disturbing the other person especially when the weather is uncomfortable. I often get up in the middle of night or very early in the morning and can leave the rear sleeping area, close the door, and not bother sleeping beauty. Finally, the 270 degree views out the lounge windows are wonderful. We'd buy the same same floor plan again. And so it goesEd & Margee Fort Worth
