John Woodruff, a member of this forum for many years, died on Nov. 11th of acute myelogenous leukemia. John and his wife Sherry are from Livermore, CA, where John was a physicist and computer scientist for his entire working career with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. I met John and Sherry at the Golden Caravan in 2006, and when they began to spend more time in Boulder, CO where their daughter and grandchildren live, we got to be friends. John and Sherry loved traveling in their '01 MB which John, with typical understated pleasure, called "Truck". John's wry sense of humor was fed by a brilliant mind, which contributed to many complicated but scientifically interesting conversations during social gatherings. He was a thoughtful, caring human being. May he rest in peace.

Chris, Did John have a teal colored Lazy Daze and an Oriental Wife? I visited a Lazy Daze owner in Livermore several years ago. A very nice guy that did me a big favor when I needed it.

I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a stand up guy that was nice as could be. If there is a memorial or anything I can do let me know. What a loss.

Definitely one of the really good ones. We exchanged emails only few months back. He mentioned nothing about his condition. We will always remember them like the lunch we shared with them at San Jose del Cabo.
