Greetings,

When I purchased my 2006 30IB I was not lucky enough to receive with it a manual for the chassis.  Does anyone out there know where the lube points are that should be addressed on the chassis?  Service here is not good, so it is a task I would like to learn to handle myself.

Thanks, Lydia

Have you tried to access the manual on-line?  Most manuals are on line these days.

My 07 came without the Ford users manual also.  I went to the support section of Ford web site and was able to down load a PDF of the owners manual. It did not show the lub points (other than the doors and gas cap - not something someone would take a grease gun to).
So even though this reply does not help you with the lube points I thought it might be worth mentioning because the owners manual does have other info that could be helpful.  As I type this, I was unable to get to the page with the manuals due to a broken link.  A month ago when I did access the site I had to have my v

In addition to the four places shown in the chart that Joan provided, the upper and lower ball joints can have zerk grease fittings installed, allowing them also to be lubed. E450 owners should also have the parking brake reservoir's oil level checked periodically.

I definitely want to view the photos of the parking brake lube point.  The photo might be 4 years old but is still accurate (unless the bolt migrated...)  Thx Mike Lewis

While not a lube point, the parking brake's oil reservoir needs checking. It is next to impossible to find a mechanic the knows anything about it.  I suggest printing the photos in the link below and taking them with you to the shop so you can point it out.

E450s do not come with grease fittings on the ball joints. At a cost of less than a $1 each, have your mechanic permanently install a set and make sure they get a small shot of grease at every oil change. Do not over lube them or the other fittings so not to damage or destroy the rubber dust covers.

Larry, thanks for posting this info again. Always good to have as a reminder. Last time I had my oil changed while at the Ford garage for 75,000 mile service, I brought up the parking brake reservoir photos on my computer and asked them to check it. Surprisingly, the service mgr. was aware of it and said it would be checked and told me at pick up that it had been. Hmmm...wonder if I can trust him???

Thanks for reproducing the photos of the parking brake fill point.  I will try not to lose these photos.
