2006 IB 30'. We are taking out our carpet today and are to have vinyl flooring installed in a couple of days. At the foot of the bed is an angled metal piece that is attached at the floor and the bottom of the box for the bed.

I can't imagine what it was used for and wonder if we should just remove it? There is a similar deal on the toilet side of the bedroom as well. Has anyone else done their floor and done something with this piece?

I just posted a couple of shots in an album entitled Flooring Fiasco.

It appears to brace the foot of the bed in place and offer additional support. I'd leave it in place if possible and try to work around.

It doesn't go around the bed or show up in any other place other than the bedroom side of toilet wall? Ours has a large triangular wedge up against the toilet wall it is carpeted.
We also have a give to the floor to the left of the bed as you face it. It sorta squeaks. I imagine the wire and plumbing chase is there and this helps the bed span that area?
Either they help brace the wall or help the carpet stick at the edge or both? I too would wonder why it would be there except to help keep the water tank in place.

I haven't done mine yet. These are just some ideas to think on.

Thanks for the update, Jim. Please post some photos of the completed floor project. It will be interesting to see if you note any "climate change" without the carpet. Guessing you will use throw rugs of some sort.
