Hi Cynthia, we are new LD owners in the Houston area. We're interested in the get together you mentioned. What dates in April and is the event open to us?

Thanks, Mike and Genny

Since I've had several people ask about the LD group in Texas, I'm just going to post the info about the meet-up in April to the entire LD  yahoo group.

There use to be an LD Caravan club in Texas but it was dissolved a few months ago because no one wanted to volunteer to set up rallies.  We attended and learned lots  of information about our 1986 LD.  They are now doing what they call "meet-ups" where someone just says let's meet at such and such a place.  Below is the e-mail that was sent out.

If you have any questions, let me know.

If you click on the "show message history" link at the bottom, it will show up.
Probably something to do with being an attached email...

Hey  Gang---as I mentioned in my last LDSC update, a couple of meet-ups   were in the works.   Mike Murphy is organizing a gathering for the  Spring.  Remember, all are invited and our friends who have other types  of RV's are invited, too
Mike  wants us to go with him to Betty RV Park in Abbeville, Louisiana on  Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 2015.  Betty's is a small  unique RV Park which is the center of the Cajun Country in South  Louisiana.  She started it as a hobby in her yard and it has blossomed.   It is a very friendly place and she hosts a gathering every afternoon  around the patio where RVers and sometimes locals stop by to visit.   It's a wonderful time to hear those wonderful Cajun accents----I say  this because I am prejudiced being part Cajun!!!!!  There is a lot to do  and see in the area and you just can't beat the seafood there.  You  might want to stay more than 2 nights.
A  small group of us who have done this trip before  actually gathered  first  for two nights at the Coushatta Casino Resort just for visiting  and eating out at the Casino Restaurant---yes, some did play the slots.   Anyway, Mike is also inviting all of us to meet up there for 2 nights  preceding driving on to Betty's----April 22nd  and 23rd.   Also, another idea is to leave Betty's on Saturday and drive on to  check out the new Golden Nugget that just opened in Lake Charles.
Remember,  this is a "no plans" , "no set schedule" meet-up---just to get together  to visit and have fun.  You can plan to come for all three or just  whichever you want----some may want to stay the whole time at Betty's as  there is so much to do in the area.
The  only reservations that you will need are at Betty's---no need for  reservations at the Casinos.  You have to call her to make the  reservations and then mail her a check---for two night $42.10 with tax.  This is a very small RV Park and sites are limited so you would need to  get your reservations ASAP.  If you have any questions, send them along  to Mike and also please let him know you are coming   .

Hope to see you there----Betty

Betty's RV Park is Abbeyville, LA is a really fun place.  But unless the snowbirds have left by that time, I expect it will be very hard to find spaces.  If you do get to Abbeyville, try Shucks Restaurant!!!

Thanks, Art. I did. It did.

So, "Show message history" somehow translates in Yahoo "Neo--speak" to showing what is likely an email attachment to a current post?  Yahoo is the poster child for murky obfuscation!
