Anyone heard of this TPMS device or tried it out? Interesting concept, using smartphone to monitor tire pressures. Reasonably priced.

Chris, this looks really nice on their web site.

However, it appears to only work (at least currently) on 4-wheeled vehicles.  This is from the FAQs:

Will FOBO Tire work for trucks or big vans? FOBO Tire works on four wheel vehicles with tire pressures below 50psi (350kPa).

Shucks, I missed that. Well, it would work on a towed vehicle like my CR-V.

It should, if you mean using it while driving your CR-V. I have doubts that it would allow you to drive your motorhome and monitor the CR-V tires, because I don't think Bluetooth has the necessary range, due to the frequencies it uses (much higher than the standard TPMS systems).
Be sure to enquire before counting on it, and let us know what you find.

Right. Bluetooth is a short-range proposition to begin with--it's mainly intended for linking devices that are only a few feet apart, such as a keyboard and computer, or a headset and phone. Add a thirty-foot-long metal box (your Lazy Daze) acting as a shield between you and the tiny Bluetooth tire stem transmitters, and I think the chances of success are poor.

Good point, Eric and Andy. I'll investigate the issue. There's a good reason I usually feel out a potential purchase with this forum's members.

Per the FOBO manual,  "You  will  be  alerted  if  you  are  within Bluetooth range (~30m)." I read that to be approximately 30m, so that's about 100' but the bulk of the LD could interfere with the signal. Before I would buy these devices, I would contact the company and ask specifically if they would work on a towed vehicle. My Honda already has a TPMS system.

How far away can I detect FOBO Tire readings? FOBO  Tire uses Bluetooth low energy (Bluetooth 4.0) to send out signals.  Typical range of Bluetooth 4.0 is 30 meters line of sight without  anything blocking the signal.
