Color code for older 1988 model

Does anyone know what the color code would be for the brown/burgundy stripe on my 1988 LD?  I need to order paint for getting this repainted.  I know I can take it down for color matching but if I can figure it out ahead it would save time.
Thanks, A pic is at.... IMG_20140309_135342_979.jpg

Just call Vicky @ the MS. She's got reference information for all the particular colors over the years. For my '93, it was Cardinal 2-part marine poly.
Also, for my '93, they had individual 1oz bottles of touch-up paint in stock. If you have a small area to cover, you can use this sprayer with 2-3oz to get a really nice finish:
Preval 9 oz. Complete Spray Gun-267 at The Home Depot

If you have to cover a larger area, be aware that 2-part poly is highly toxic and needs a professional set-up. I figured with 2 oz I'd be ok outside. Still ticking after a couple of years.

We have the same color on a '89. We painted it a while ago and posted the info but I'm not sure it's still "searchable". We used Pettit Easypoxy marine paint. They sell it at West Marine or Wholesale Marine online. The color was almost an exact match. I'd say it was exact but it must be slightly different and my old eyes just can't see it ;-). Our TK was pretty faded and the original color wouldn't have been a match. If you're painting all of the red it really won't matter but for touchup the Pettit paint is perfect. I can't remember if we used the bright red or the burgundy. I'm pretty sure it was the bright red and it surprised me that it was so dark. If you live near a marine supply store they'll probably have the paint and color chips. The Pettit paint has a nice high gloss finish.

I just posted a couple of pictures of the newish paint job. These pictures were taken four years after we painted her.

I've used both Pettit and Interlux one part marine polyurethane enamels with a small roller and disposable brushes. The paint will have lot's of small bubbles when you roll it on, and some brush marks where you tip it off. After about 20 minutes the pain flows out and you'll swear it was sprayed on. Extremely durable and a good way to DIY without all the equipment and issues of spraying.

Nice photos and nice paint job. Guess that must be "old jersey man" in one of the photos.

That looks like a great finish. How did you handle the (faded/peeling/chipping) decal lines? I can't tell if you removed them, or taped @ the inside perimeter to paint the interior area.
By the way, if anyone is curious, the LD white is standard GM 'polar white' aka good old WA5704:

The small stripes were in decent shape and he left them alone. The larger pinstripes were sanded and painted over. George used Bondo to fill in some repaired areas. He thought the striping might peel away under the paint but it hasn't and you can't tell the difference between the bare areas and the places where the tape was left on. The Pettit white paint was a perfect match to the original. Neither of us can tell which white areas he painted.

Sorry I'm a day late with my response. We spent yesterday at Newark Airport hoping that our daughter's flight from Phoenix wouldn't be delayed forever. We were extremely lucky. On the 70 mile trip there and back the snow changed to rain. It snowed before, during our 4 hour wait and as soon as we got home again. The roads were just wet. Very strange but very welcome!!

Happy Thanksgiving.
